I don't own any games that are particularly rare, I did own a few that are sort of rare...I guess. The first being the gray cartridge version of Turok 2, the other being Norse by Norsewest on Playstation 1. I didn't sell them to any store, they are now part of my sister's collection.

I've got three of those. Two boxed, one unboxed...Demented Collector wrote:Don't really know which is my rarest game, a couple of candidates are Dream Para Para for the Dreamcast and Boing for the Atari 2600.

I don't know how rare these are but I own boxed copies of Super Castlevania IV, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Megaman X, and UN Squadron ( I know this isn't a rare game, but it's a great game)
Super Metroid and Megaman X were recent. I was sick all week last week and my GF surprised me with them to make me feel better. I love her.

They're all great games for sure, but they all sold plenty of copies. Most games from big companies aren't going to be rare unless there was some sort of production issue or something. Certainly having boxes for them is more uncommon though.o0 StatiK wrote:I don't know how rare these are but I own boxed copies of Super Castlevania IV, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Megaman X, and UN Squadron ( I know this isn't a rare game, but it's a great game)

Just bit the bullet and splurged on a Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn).
The place I purchased it from was selling both the JPN and NA versions. I went back and forth in my head several dozen times before settling on the American one. I've wanted this game for years. I've been watching some YouTube videos of gameplay and the 2D graphics are amazing. Can't wait to actually play it.

I had to have the US version, my ritual before playing any Working Designs game is to read the manual first and then Gush over the translation notes in the back of the manual. Its been going for alot lately, I'd recommend not paying more than $100 for a US version tho.

I payed a little over $100.
It's in beautiful condition.
Usually I get Japanese versions of really expensive games (for instance, I have Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG instead of Panzer Dragoon Saga), but I have a nostalgic attachment to Magic Knight Rayearth - it was the first anime I was ever really into and the Super Famicom game was the first non-American title I ever played.
So yeah, I decided I had to get the Working Designs version. I don't see myself splurging like that for a looooong time.

nice score Bone. It'll be a while before I get to that one myself.
Re: What's the rarest game you own?
Every time I hear about the US version of Rayearth, I remember the time I was on vacation and at some random EB or Babbages somewhere (don't remember where) and was looking at a new copy of that game debating whether I wanted to get it or not. I think one of the clerks might have pointed it out to me, but for some reason stupid reason I thought it was an import copy, and with not being quite as giddy about the Saturn at the time, I passed on it. What a moron.
Aside from the bank rolling side of it, I'm really much more happy with my JP LE copy, though.
Anyway, the other thing I remember about that game is how damn shiny the artwork is. Very nice piece to add into a collection. Congrats.
