Wow, those are some great, gaming IPs. (Not completely knocking them, they just easily become shovel-ware if released by another developer.)

EDIT: Actually realized that I might be harshing on Nintendo a little excessively, as I thought of some other release: The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade (sorta). Also, all the JP releases in the late 90s - early 2000s that didn't make it to the US. I think my point still stands, though: The US market needs to stop buying all the same old crap from Nintendo.

Those are exclusives, not Nintendo-developed IPs (sorta like Fire Emblem, Sin and Punishment SS, etc.). There are a lot of great exclusives for Nintendo consoles, some of which are even published by Nintendo - but not developed by them.

A lot of retarded comments, including the OP's post, but post 3 (solitanze) says it all...

Hmm, I thought Brain Age and Nintendogs were internally developed Nintendo IPs. I think the guy in post #3 missed those, unless he doesn't count Nintendo SPD/EAD as Nintendo proper for some odd reason. But he counted the WiiFit games, so...

They're Nintendo published in Japan. I'm just trying to be fair, as I was thinking of Sega published games also, when mentioning the difference in new IPs released. Honestly, I can't think of any new Sega or Capcom developed IPs in the last five years either.

Yup, looks like he missed those. Still, even with those included the number of new IPs is meager at best...

Within the current gen:

Capcom:
Dragon's Dogma
Lost Planet
Dead Rising

-If we include the gen before we also get stuff like DMC, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, and many others

Sega:
Valkyria Chronicles
Project Diva
various card-based arcade exclusives

-Again, if we go back a decade to the last gen we catch a bunch more stuff like all the new DC IPs, Blood Will Tell, Initial D, etc.

But yeah - neither is a fountain of new internally-developed IPs.

Bayonetta was developed by Platinum Games in cooperation with SEGA...

I know, it's cheating, kinda... lol

Define "in cooperation". I'm pretty sure Sega doesn't have a dev credit, so I can't count them as a developer. They've certainly published a lot of great stuff like Bayonetta, though...

Hey, I'm just quoting Wikipedia you know...

Ok, Dream Raiders then. Or does arcade not count?...

Dream Raiders by Sega Amusements at IAAPA 2012

Ghost Squad is another one...
