Hi, I was wondering if Japanese Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers Revenge is bootable with ActionReplay(v2.02) (US) Sega Saturn Model 1? My Saturn is un-modded.
I also bought the cheapest saturn game US (Madden98), just to see if a US game does boot up, the game is heavly scratched... so of course it doesn't boot up. I already tried to clean the saturn lens and scratch game. The saturn wont boot up the scratch game. **I recently bought a saturn and noticed the saturn case doesn't close the lid drive properly and of course the saturn thinks the lid is opened, but its not. I opened up the saturn and put tape inside to make the saturn think the lid is closed.
Okay darkstalkers doesn't boot up in ActionReplay just says "Loading...". Darkstalker disc condition is B+ or A-. When I bought Action Replay it came with no instruction from the seller, but the cartridge seems to work fine. Can anyone confirm Darkstalkers works with action replay?
***Going to bed see yeah, It maybe the saturn drive or Action replay eventhough it doesn't look like anything is wrong with it. Also i need to get a Saturn battery because it resets itself everytime. I feel like I'm giving saturn life support eventhough the games that I want to play haven't started.

Re: (J)Darkstalkers Revenge ActionReplay?
So... I take it you are trying to play the Japanese version of Night Warriors (Known in Japan as Vampire Hunter). I'm a little lost in your description. Anywho, If such is the case. There "shouldn't" be a problem loading on a Model 1 with an action replay cart. It may be your disc or perhaps your cart isn't making proper contact with your consoles cart port (it happens sometimes)...
Re: (J)Darkstalkers Revenge ActionReplay?
CD Drives can be very finicky I have a copy of Nights that I have to clean every time I put it in my Saturn or it won't boot or take forever to.
Re: Saturn disc drive help?
Okay I just bought two cheap saturn games somewhat scratch in A- or B range, which is good. Okay somewhat bad news, it seems the saturn disc drive doesn't seem to detect the game it just says "Checking disc format" and freezes eventhough I can press on the controller and it makes sega sound effects like normal. I think there are two fixable options which is twist the laser screw a tiny tiny bit to the left and other is pry disc spinner upward a little. And other options before I do this. there is this tutorial I dont know if you guys recommend it. Overall the saturn boots up/video and the disc drive spins (but no game boots). I was not the original sega saturn owner and the disc drive opener doesn't close properly like it original did.
I already tried the youtube tutorial of both technique. Orange screw and pry the cd drive upward. The sega saturn... all it does is checking disc format and never tries to boot up game and the main menu freezes up. I do not understand why the main menu freezes when it tries to check the disc format.
