Be sure to start with Rampage Edition on Genesis.
I've spent so much time playing the original on Genesis yet I've never even seen Rampage Edition. :(
Dude, that's heartbreaking. Its so damn fun.

The game is pure adrenaline to me. Very different from the deliberate pace of the original (which I also love, but not as much).
I played the hell out of the regular version, but never even touched the Rampage edition. What's the difference?

Primarily the pace. The whole game is much faster and more arcadey, and the controls have been improved a lot to compensate (they're actually a bit loose even, but you get used to it).

There's a new set of levels, one of which is exclusive to Grant. Grant's game has become action packed, you get lots of weapons (and more ammo for them) and you kinda just have at it. For the sake of example, there's a stage where you ride a Gallimimus and fight off helicopters.

The Raptor also has a new quirk, where if you eat a certain number of these cases you come across, you go in to Rampage mode for a few seconds. The screen turns red, you become invulnerable, and anything you touch dies instantly.

The levels are also much larger than the first game.

I think the game is a blast.

Edit:

Noise, the Sega CD version is an FMV game right?

I'm not Noise, but it's a point and click FMV game. I'm pretty sure it's time limited too. I played it a bit at pre-school (where I also played a lot of Sonic 2 and the first JP game) and remember liking it but nobody could figure out what to do.

Ha, sounds about right for a point and click. I need to check it out, right after lost world on saturn.

Thanks for the confirmation.

If you're not super stingy about getting the Saturn version, the Special Edition on PS1 fixes a lot of the problems in the original PS1/Saturn release. The Saturn version has some hit detection problems too. They're bad in the compy stages but it's not a problem otherwise.

However, the Saturn version is the only one that saves properly. At least it's the only one I ever got to save correctly. So there's that to consider too.

So you'll have to tell me whether Primal Rage or Warpath: Jurassic Park is a better fighting game, because I need my dino beatdown action!

I finally tried out my new Atari 2600.

It worked like a charm, sadly the controllers on the atari didn't work. the right paddle controller is too skittish and my standard controller doesn't move to the right. thankfully I had a spare Sega Master System controller to try out the few games that I had on me.

I also have a chance to test out the games that I found with out cases from a few months back. sadly, there were no rare games in them :(

I do believe that I now have two pal atari 2600 games. the screen was all rolly. they seem to be spectra vision games. I saw the logo of one of them and one is a game that I remember playing a long time ago. I did some Google searching and PAL games do that.

I am pleased.

Don't you find it funny when people list games on eBay or Craigslist like Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt as rare?
