Wind Waker HD coming to the Wii U

What new features are they adding? The way it was stated earlier suggested that they are just implementing a bit of code at the OS level that checks the game and says "if X ($1 paid) then Y (send title to gamepad screen)." What are they adding to the games that substantiate the extra dough?

"The Wii U Virtual Console will launch with a selection of NES and Super Nintendo games, though Iwata noted that it will not launch with the entire library already available on the Wii Virtual Console. The reason for this, said Iwata, is that Wii U Virtual Console games are being newly developed especially for Wii U and will feature the ability for players to save their progress and play directly on the GamePad."

Save states? Customizeable controls? Why should we be expected to pay more money for things that come standard with every other emulator??

You want the jazz'd up Wii U version and you already bought it, it's an extra dollar. If you don't want the jazz'd up version you simply download it because you already own it. I'm missing the "expected to pay more" part. The last time I checked, development time for something taking advantage of features on the new system isn't free.

As much as i love Wind Waker, ill still be waiting at least till 2014 before buying a Wii U, going to enjoy my 3DS in the mean time.
