After beating RE6 I realized every character has his/her own fighting and survival style. This stems back to the original RE1 where Chris was better at hand to hand combat (starting with a knife) while Jill was a stealthier more agile character (with a 9mm and lock pick kit)
looking back at the countless games in the series packed with new, fresh and interesting character’s, I’d have to say
Claire and Tofu(never gets any love 
) are my favorite survivors
From the mutants I’ve always loved
nemesis, he has repeatedly killed my survivor(in this case chracter), and has been the subject of countless nightmares, this big guy always knows how to get the party going (specially RE3
)
