I don't claim to know the business side of things or be a EA historian. But as a gamer back then I could see that Road Rash and Crue Ball certainly weren't making as big of a splash as Street Fighter or Castlevania. (And making games exclusively for PCs, in the early 80s, is hardly what I call big.)elmagicochrisg wrote: Just by reading the 1982–1991 part of EA's Wikipedia page you can see they got real big real fast...

Your own chilhood recollections aside, their PC success had made them one of the biggest names in gaming for some time before the Genesis launched and they were more or less a household name as far as game companies went.

Okay, okay, so it's just my own childhood perspective of things. Because I never did play sports games (still don't except for wrestling and Tony Hawk games) so I didn't pay attention to sports releases, and I know that NHL '94 is a game that is still brought-up by many gamers.

Wow...
New Nintendo Direct really has me wondering if I'll buy a Wii U sooner than later.

I'll have a Wii U by the end of the year. Finally got to try one just the other day, that Mario game is sweet.

Relic has been bought by Sega.
So hopefully that means Company of Heroes 2 will come out unscathed from THQ's bankruptcy.

Does anyone actually have good numbers for what Genesis titles sold what?
