What are your favorite tv shows?

I mostly like genre stuff and any animated show that isn't aimed squarely at kids. Oddball shows get my attention(like Pushing Daisies). Comedy shows if they're smart or edgy. Not really into the sitcom stuff. I like stand up though, and the Comedy Central roasts are usually worth watching with some memorable jokes(You do a google search on Bob Sagat and it comes back, why? LOL). I don't like cop shows/procedural shows, except for Monk, because the show is based around such a unique character and is more lighthearted than your usual depressing Law and Order/CSI crap.

I HATE reality tv, or as I like to call it, cheap and lazy tv. I also hate American Idol. How a show that does the SAME DAMN THING season after season is still popular amazes me. Hate sports, but like pro wrestling. Mostly because it's more about entertainment than competition. Plus, I respect these guys for doing things with their bodies that so called real athletes wouldn't have the balls to do. Anyway here's a list

On again/off again:
Monk
Dr. Who/Torchwood. Torchwood I don't think won me over until season 2. With the simultaneous departure of my two favorite characters, I don't know if I care to watch the show any more

nope. I too only watch tv for the news. I do download though seasons of Friends and every episode of Lost that I love, but never watch them on TV. It mostly has to do with my "when I'm in the mood" mentality. I can't bother watching the episode when the channel thinks I should

I'll be honest...I'd rather watch the original Battlestar Galactica. I have had problems watching anything on SciFi since Farscape got canned and they started gearing the network towards producing those craptastic films all the time.

As for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report...I have a different political slant than they do. I prefer Red Eye for my news and comedy quota...

I would like to see Farscape some day. Never saw the original BSG. I never had much interest in it, but the new one is so different it got my interest and I've loved it. It's just a fantastic show in my opinion. I hear a lot of people calling it the best show on tv and am inclined to agree, but now I'm getting fanboyish.

I won't talk politics here, but I can respect you having a different political slant. I'm not familiar with Red Eye, but it may not be for me anyway

Oh yeah, Burn Notice is another show I like. It has the awesome Bruce Campbell in it and is just a fun show.
