Together Retro: Baldur's Gate
Re: Together Retro: Baldur's Gate
Played some more today. Found a band of bandits near the starting point, went to Gullykin and killed an Ogre Mage in the Firewine Ruins, was trying to get some sweet experience against another Ogre Mage named Kahrk, but did not have a strong enough party. 2 members made it to Level 5 today. 2 weeks left, so I gotta get a move on!

Re: Together Retro: Baldur's Gate
I haven't played much for the past week but am hoping to make more progress over the next couple days.
I did the first mission for Scar in Baldur's Gate and now I'm off to the sewers. I already went down there briefly while exploring the city so I'm not expecting it to be too overwhelming?

Re: Together Retro: Baldur's Gate
Well I ran into a pretty annoying bug! I was about to explore the Iron Throne in Baldur's Gate but decided it might be worth my time to go do the side-quests added in the expansion pack first.
...but I can't find them! From what I've found online, I'm not the only person with this problem. Apparently there is no way to get to Ulgoth's Beard without re-installing Tales of the Sword Coast after I've beaten the game. This might have been fixed with a patch, but I don't want to install one and find my saves unusable this late in the game. PRETTY LAME.

Copy your save file(s) from your save folder to some where, reinstall the game and paste them in the save folder? That's how it works in most gamesNemoide wrote:This might have been fixed with a patch, but I don't want to install one and find my saves unusable this late in the game.

Re: Together Retro: Baldur's Gate
Haven't played for a while, weather in Portugal has been crazy and the power was out since Saturday, only got it back now.
Last time I had just finished the "something-wood"/Iron Throne quest, don't remember where I'm supposed to go next but I hope it's not too long before Baldur's Gate.
So far I'm really, really liking the game. It helps that I'm pretty nostalgic about old 2d isometric games, and the fact that we're free to explore such vast areas at will, without being forced down a linear path, is great. The combat system still hides some secrets from me, but with some patience, and trial and error, I've been managing. Everyone in my party is at level 5, with a couple guys at 6 if I remember correctly.

Some games change the save file format when you patch, rendering earlier saves useless. RPGs tend to suffer from this the most.Menegrothx wrote:Copy your save file(s) from your save folder to some where, reinstall the game and paste them in the save folder? He can't die at the end. He's already dead before the game started. The real mystery is how did he die?noiseredux wrote:Baldur Dies at the end. And the "Gate" was really his sled.
