It's OK. One thing I have to say is that IT LOOKS AMAZING.

It's commercial failure also brought Squaresoft - easily one of the most creative, exciting game studios of the 1990s - to its knees. Accordingly, I blame it for the fact that we have dozens of Final Fantasy remakes and spin-offs, but no true sequels to Einhander or Vagrant Story...

I liked it, but it wasn't amazing story wise. I think FF game fans (which I am not) poo pooed it because it was un-FF like aside from Gaia underpinnings. It still looks pretty good even today IMHO for an older all CG movie.

I think you'll find a lot of FF fans are a lot kinder to it nowadays. It's really not a bad movie, it's just really bleh and forgettable.

Agree with Mr.Popo. LES MISERABLES is the Marvel's The Avenger's of Musicals. It succeeds on every level of what it wants to do.

If you visit the theater soon, while walking past the line at the box office say "I can't believe Lincoln DIES at the end!!!". You'll get all kinds of weird looks.

I respectfully have to say you are out of your mind. QT makes original movies, pen on paper to film on screen. They are works of art, not "Let's take this source material and make it a movie".
Not all of Robert Rodriguez's movies lack originality. Sure, Quentin makes more original material than he does, but Rodriguez's movies generally just appeal to me more. I mean when Grindhouse was released on DVD, I immediately checked out Planet Terror. Yet, I still haven't seen Death Proof. I like Robert Rodriguez's take on stylish action, his impressive low budget approach, and his film school-like DVD features. I'm a fan of his, while Tarantino is a guy I respect but wouldn't call myself a fan.

With the exception of Kill Bill Vol 1, I don't usually get the desire to rewatch a Tarantino movie, even though I usually enjoy them. I've watched Desperado, From Dusk til Dawn, and Sin City more than once though. Even when they put out Four Rooms, I just found Rodriguez's contribution to it more entertaining than Tarantino's. The only thing from Rodriguez that didn't completely knock my socks off was Machete, but I want to rewatch it again sometime to see if I feel differently after another viewing.

WHY NOT!!!!! YOU SUCK! :P

But seriously, its great. I love both Rodriguez and Tarantino as great directors, so I'm Switzerland in that conversation.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I loved Death Proof and have seen it many times. Planet Terror I didn't enjoy at all. Shrug. And I don't dislike Rodriguez. Desperado, Sin City, his part of Four Rooms, Machete were all great.
