Undo The End

Image

You are in an apocalyptic future, but you have a device that lets you temporarily shift to a time before the disaster happened. Go back and forth between times/dimensions to work your way through and undo the end.

Dominion Online
All The Kings Men
Reiner Knizia's Forbidden City

If you're a fana of imported board games, you'll likely instantly recognize the Dominion logo and the name Reiner Knizia. Check out the site called Goko linked in the image and play some board games in your computer box.

Timebomb and Undermine are two new games by Kenta Cho, master of all things shmup. These are both interesting simple ideas for unique gameplay mechanics. Give them a try. You'll get the idea in a few minutes.

Hexagon

Image

I thought I had posted this a long time ago, but apparently not. With arguments that Super Hexagon should be Game of the Year, I figured I should at least mention the Terry Cavanaugh flash game that started all this insanity.

I still have yet to survive a spiral. This game is hard.

I found the controls hard to use.

I finally survived some spirals. This game is like a meditation exercise. You have to expand your awareness to attend to both the center (where you are) and the outer edges (where the walls close in from). You also learn to time your movements with the music because it's synced to the images. It's like meditating when you're trying to both focus on your breathing and the sights and sounds of the world around you (Only you have to thread a triangle through a high speed onslaught of hexagon parts at the same time).

Dune 2

This is a classic in the RTS world and there is now an open-source version of the game running on HTML5. If you want to play a little bit of realtime strategy history, you can do it by clicking the linked image above.

I just wanted to throw out a recommendation for the game Lim. It's something that's best left for the player to figure out for themselves, so I won't spoil anything. Just go play it; it's only about 2-3 minutes long. http://mkopas.net/files/Lim/

Lee Lee's Quest 2

This is a comedy platforming game. It's laid back and just has lots of jokes along the way as your character and the bad guys wisecrack with each other and you. It's a short game and good for a laugh.
