The best NBA JAM

Post by RCBH928 »

I have known this game for a long time but never got to really play it, I just remember BOOMSHAKALAKA . I have seen recently a version of it with high review on the iPhone store , but i was wondering which version is best or truest to the game to play.

I remember that it was an arcade game but then had withered ports to SNES and PSX I think. All I remember is big heads. I think there was a port on PSN store , not sure though but I did play a basketball game on my friend's ps3 that looked very similar.

This may sound weird. But I'm over the nostalgia. I like NBA Jam On Fire Edition for PS3 best.

For me, NBA JAM TE on Genesis will always be king. SNES was not as good IIRC. Haven't played the xbox 360 version yet, but I want to.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Naturally the best is probably going to be the Tournament Edition arcade version. Outside of that, I'm guessing the 32x or Genesis versions are probably the best ports, even if they're a tad watered down.

The ps3 one is kinda a completely different game, but I suppose it's an acceptable alternative.

If you decide to go the arcade route and emulate it in MAME or something, make sure you also get the earliest version of the game. It's got Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile as hidden playable characters!

It's a sequel, so more or less. It's what Midway made after they lost the rights to the NBA JAM name to Acclaim.
