Yea, I definitely recommend it as long as you know what to expect. The game is $16.99 w/ free shipping at Newegg if you're interested in purchasing. However, you should at least give it a rent to try it out.
Any technical issues on the PS3 version? I have both consoles and am wondering which version to try. Generally, Unreal engine 3 games seem to run better on the 360

1. Mega Man (NES)
2. Kirby's Adventure (NES)
3. Toejam & Earl (GEN)
4. Mortal Kombat (SCD)
5. Rockband (Hard) (360)
6. Mega Man 2 (NES)
7. Metal Storm (NES)

Metal Storm: I decided to randomly play this game having heard very little about it, and it blew my mind. Adding gravity control to a run-n-gun was such a great concept, and they implemented it perfectly here. The first level is a bit on the easy side, but the difficulty starts to ramp up at a great pace from there. I never found the game to be too cheap, but some parts were definitely challenging. The game has some excellent boss fights too. My only gripe would be with the last boss's difficulty, which just seemed too low after some of the other fights. However, clearing the game gives you a password for an "expert" round, so perhaps the end boss of that round will be a bit more challenging.

This game is just all around really great. I didn't put down the controller from my first credit until the credits were rolling.

1. Liberation Maiden (3DS) - 1/6
2. Dead Space (360) - 1/11
3. Anarchy Reigns (360) - 1/13
4. Dead Space 2 (360) - 1/17
5. Dead Space 2: Severed DLC (360) - 1/17

Like Dead Space 1, this time around in Dead Space 2 was a replay for my girlfriend's benefit. There was a lot of the game I forgot, so it was a lot of fun to revisit. Fantastic game and a lot more polished than Dead Space 1 (though a little less scary).

We also blew through the Severed campaign DLC which turned out to be really short, but also really good. I'm not sure what it costs now, but I'd say definitely worth $5, but maybe a little too light on content to be $10 or more. At $10 I'd only recommend it to someone that's really into the series.

I don't. But I did play the DC version when DCRes released the English translation patch.
Super Puzzle Fighter II pretty much got me into puzzle games back in my freshman year of high school. Once the GBA version came out, I grabbed that thing and proceeded to pour my time into the puzzle and VS mode. A couple weeks later, I had beaten it backwards forwards, and every other direction.
Same here. I don't consider myself a "completionist gamer" by a longshot. But Puzzle Fighter is one of those rare games that I was compelled to "100%".
I've been meaning to pop in my saturn copy for a while now. I know it doesn't have the puzzle mode, but did you find it generally more enjoyable on the Saturn? (I originally played the game on another person's PS1, but it's been too long for me to really remember what it was like.)
Personally, I'm just more of a console gamer than a handheld gamer. I found the Saturn version to be damn solid. I hadn't even looked into if there were additional modes outside of Arcade on there.

Like I said I've played through GBA, PS1, DC, PSN, 360 and Saturn versions now. I'd honestly say that the PSN/XBLA ports are pretty definitive -- at least for the time being. Puzzle Fighter in HD with online play is pretty tough to beat! I guess the edge could go to 360 since you can get a physical copy on the Capcom Digital Collection. That said, the Dreamcast version is really great. I'm not sure if it supports VGA or not, but if so I'd guess it would look pretty damn close to HD. Too bad the 'Matching Service' feature is no longer available.

Yes, get the 360 version. The game has screen tearing exclusive to the PS3 version. As you said, the 360 does a better job with the UE3.

I'm really not a fan of the HD reboot. The style is kind of awkwardly different, to me, and the blocks/jewels look pretty horrible, IMO. I can't really stomach it, unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure the Saturn port just has the arcade and versus mode, but I generally prefer seeing stuff up on a TV screen with some heavier sound, also. The DC port does support VGA, and it also has the x-ism, y-ism and z-ism options that are in the HD remake. I guess I'll probably need to get it at some point as my definitive copy, but don't I know it about the matching service. I'm hoping for the day someone can put together a server for all of the dead Dreamcast internet services, as unlikely as that probably is.

there's rumors of some projects, but no concrete details on specific games. I'd kill for DC servers for Puzzle Fighter and pretty much any of the fighting games (Vampire Chronicle FTW!). Some info here: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtop ... f=3&t=2918

There's also talk of Planet Ring getting a new server soon: http://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtop ... f=3&t=5267

---

Which reminds me, did you get your DC online yet or what man? I've got mine working via dialup these days.

I'd kill to play Outtrigger online again. Strange request, I know but that's nostalgia for you.

Edit: Alien Front Online too complete with voice chat. :D

Planet Ring would be awesome! I always wanted to get it, but pretty useless without the online component. The other project doesn't really sound that promising from the actual website....

I still haven't even tried. It should just be a matter of hooking up my Dreamcast with the BBA near my wireless router, but I've just put off even checking. I should really just do that today. The main issue is that I'd have to move the DC, and hook it up to a different TV in a different location every time I wanted to do something online with it. Eventually I might have a better configuration set up, though. Would be really cool to get back into PSO.

Alien Front Online was great! That's another one that isn't nearly as interesting without the online part.

Pierrot, less games are compatible with the BBA than the modem. But PSO is perfectly playable with either. So yeah. Set it up soon then. I've already tried PSO with the modem and I connected no problem. I only have a lvl 2 character so we could totally play some PSO together!
