Double elimination is generally the best method to use for smaller scale tournaments. If you end up with a ton of people wanting to play pools generally works well at the start, switching to double elimination once the weaker players have been weeded out.

Smogon is only controversial among morons. There, I said it

Being more serious now, all the competitive players are Smogonites themselves. They have the best understanding of the game, the best community and they are the only ones with an actual methodology to enforce tiers and bans. There's simply no alternative because everyone else is either a Smogon wannabe or a bunch of kids who love the anime.

Double elimination is a fair and easy to control. You may also consider using a battle emulator instead of the actual cartridges.

As much as I don't want to, I might have to resort to that. Over 400 views and only one person showed any interest.

I'd only do it if we do it through a fan program. EV/IV breeding takes way too long to do perfectly.

Amen.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

Was kind of hoping there'd already be people with that stuff done who would be interested.
EV training can be done in a few hours, with IV breeding you can settle for a few points off ideal.

Then again, if nobody has EV/IV optimized pokes, it's still kind of even isn't it?

With my site being handheld niche, it's kind of pointless to do this on the PC.

Whens the sign up deadline? Maybe I missed it in the post on your site?
Reason being, I'm interested, but don't currently have access to a gen 5 game so I need to see if a pirated copy works online so I can trade my gen 4 guys over.
