Exactly. Whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of the stuff I listened to in high school, and I can't help but feel repulsed.Lone Wanderer wrote:Demonocracy is by far the best JFAC album.Ack wrote:So I've been listening to a lot of Job For A Cowboy's Demonocracy album lately. I like it, but how does it compare to their older works?
Also, I picked up Winds of Plague's Against the World album, and I kind of regret it. I just can't get into it. There are a couple of tracks I like, such as Built for War, but for the most part...just not feeling it.
I'd regret buying a Winds of Plague album too. The vocals...

JFAC does absolutely nothing for me.

i don't even know what most of those bands are. i've heard of job for a cowboy.
the more i think about metal the more i think i really only like thrash. it's like the perfect combination of hair metal style and hardcore sensibility. plus i can't stand most huge epic metal arrangements or nu-grind garbage.

JFAC's first album was decent enough, but past that I can't see anything worth listening too.AppleQueso wrote:JFAC does absolutely nothing for me.

And pig squeals? I just can't do any of that. It takes what could have been something and makes it into something so stupid I can't take it seriously.

Pretty much all slam/br00tal death metal is that way
.
It's like the death metal equivalent of those silly and terrible bedroom black metal bands.
Some of the parody bands are kinda funny.

Winds of Plague doesn't do "true" pig squeals, but he inhales all his vocals and they sound like complete shit + take no talent really. I do like some bands that use pig squeals, such as Cytotoxin.

I just don't like squealy styled vocals. If it even remotely sounds pig like, it does nothing for me. Being around pigs throughout life makes you come to hate the sound.Lone Wanderer wrote:Winds of Plague doesn't do "true" pig squeals, but he inhales all his vocals and they sound like complete shit + take no talent really. I'm trying to find some Folk metal... yeesh, kind of an interesting mix of stuff. Some stuff I really like (Eluveitie, Turisas), some I'm not totally sure on yet (Enisferum, Tyr), and some that's just too plain goofy/out there for me to like (Koorpliklani, Finntroll).
Of course, my main research website, Encyclopedia Metallum, doesn't have either Eluveitie or Turisas...

I literally copy/pasted the band names from your post and just dropped it right into their search bar.Forlorn Drifter wrote:WTF??AppleQueso wrote:Forlorn Drifter wrote: Of course, my main research website, Encyclopedia Metallum, doesn't have either Eluveitie or Turisas...
