I had a friend in high school who was an incredible magician and wasn't too shabby at stealing watches, temporarily of course.
I'm very aware of my surroundings, and stick to the rule of wallet in front pocket, hand always on wallet while in shady areas. If my wife and I are out late on a visit to a big city, she always turns her engagement ring so the diamond faces her palm. Clever girl.
