Anyone remember Tandy Corporation Incredible Universe? Absolute paradise, the Home Depot of Electronics stores. Frys took the building over, kept the same huge warehouse concept. The brochure below brings memories back.

Everything about Radio Shack is ugly...there is only good ugly and bad ugly.
I see Radio Shacks everywhere, and they're always empty or almost empty when I do. I haven't been in one since the 90's so I can't comment on the service or their products but I don't understand why they're so ubiquitous and how they remain in business.

I tried applying at the Radio Shack down the road from where I live, since they were hiring. Apparently, however, Radio Shack's system causes all applicants to go through some sort of "master system" where it determines whether or not you qualify and then sends those applications to the respective branches.
I didn't qualify, so the branch I applied to never even got to look at my application. To say the very least, I was irritated by what seems to me is a very cumbering system.
