There is no way this game is not coming out. I feel that Sony has just invested way too much time and way too many resources to cancel this game after years of development. That would just be putting years of work from a major first-party dev going to waste.

I still have hope that this will be released sometime in the next year or so...this and Mega Man Legends 3...

Don't bring up Mega Man Legends 3....I'm going to start crying.

Most likely, in the Last Guardian's case, they are doing a completely overhaul on the gameplay of the game. What we saw earlier in demos will most likely not reflect the final product. I think that Ueda probably was going more towards an interactive drama ala Heavy Rain, while still keeping some of the mechanics of the previous games in the series. My guess was there was a lot of conflict with producers and Ueda on the direction of the game and drama ensued.

I just hope they get their act together and release a great product...I just got the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD re-release on PS3 for Christmas!

I hope we'll see it this year ... they've done nothing but constantly reassure it's being worked on. I just hope it doesn't get pushed over to PS4.
