Turbografx 16 not working

Hi ! I recently purchased off ebay a T-16 with Keith Courage and it sadly dosen't work. it's hooked up on an hd tv, I can only hear the title screen for 1 or seconds than it shuts off. I've tried tot clean the cartridge slot by wraping a coffee filter around the cart and puting alcohol on it and then insert the cart in the slot back and forth. No better result.

Can someone help me?

How are you hooking it up? RF or do you have the booster for composite? Have you tried another TV?

RF sadly, I don't have the booster or the mod and I don't have an other tv sadly.

Well, I'd try it on a friends TV first.

It's worth being patient. If you're lucky the RGB inside could be Saturn level glory, waiting to convert to more useful form.

I'm not sure how good US model turbografx can get. Most people who video upgrade use japanese pc engine.

I'm not sure if the tv is a concern, my Atari 2600 works on it (as far as rf signals goes) and even my cable tv receiver is hooked up on rf.

Hmm ok. If you're hearing sounds for a moment, then it is is booting. Perhaps there's a capacitor inside somewhere that is failing and gets unhappy as it starts to warm up. Do you have the larger game bit to open it up and look?

TG RF actually looks pretty good. It is better than the composite out of most Genesis I'd say. With the booster the composite is pretty good too, obviously the same as PCE composite. I don't know about anything beyond that once tinkering though.

THIS. Test on a SD CRT to verify that the TG16 is working or not. You could even try it at a local Thrift Store, they should have CRT TVs plugged in there. Be sure the TV and console is matched to the right channel.

The TG-16 can be modded for S-video and RGB in the same manner as the PCE, actually.

Well now I feel dumb. It was woriking all along, but on channel 4 instead of every other consoles on channel 3. Thnaks for your help everyone !

I ordered a gamebit to maybe look for moding so I can plug it in RCA. Do someone has a good video tutorial to help me ?
