Sega cd not working?

hi i have bin having a problem with my Sega CD it cant read the desk and i cant find out what it is doing i have a problem with my Sega genesis to like if you move the power supply it will restart or wont turn back on at all. plz give me help! :o :|

Well, if it's anything like my model 2 Genesis, then the contacts to your a/c adapter are slipping when it's plugged into your Genesis. You can try resting something with a bit of weight, gently on the cord so that the input is pressing down toward the floor. It could give you a better contact, and more stable power.

That could also help your Sega CD problem, but if not, do you get the Sega CD splash screen at all, or is there just a blank screen when you put a Sega CD game into the drive and power it on?

yes i get that screen and i just put in the disk it says checking disk and then says to press start i go press start and it takes me to the cd player and says no disk. and its a model 2 Sega CD and also genesis. :o

Hmmm. Barring something simple like the discs being damaged, it sounds like maybe your laser is on its way out. The only fix I could think of would be to change out the laser mechanism for a new one, or adjust the laser strength, which would probably not take you too far.
Have you tried standard music CDs, and does it play them? Also, are you able to play the audio tracks off of the Sega CD game discs in the main menu?

the only disk i have bin using is music cds and i have burned games and it did not work.

You might, at some point, want to try a retail disc with it, but it sounds like the laser could be toast.

i have unscrewd it and put a cd in and the laser wint but it did not spin and it looked like there was a wire and some screws also missing

i have a Sega CD that i had got from eBay on the 9th and the guy said it worked but it dose not work and i opened it and i did a trick i know to play the cd so i can see what it is doing
and it was not spinning and i needed to know what was going on with it. i hope you guys can help me with this and i have tryed many forms and i have not got a fix so i hope i can get some help :( :?
