Besides if you're getting a game on PSN/XBLA it is basically running off an emulator.
3rd Strike online isn't emulated but I'm pretty sure Marvel VS Capcom Origins and Final Fight Double Impact are. Not to mention Samurai Shodown II and Garou.

If we were gonna include emulators we might as well not even bother with the list and just have the word MAME in huge letters in the first post.
Re: Definitive Fighting Game Versions!
Not always Sometimes a home versions has features over the Arcade version. Like the speed settings in X-Men VS Street Fighter or the tons of fighters with Survival modes the Arcade didn't have. Or the Hunafunda game in Last Blade 2.AppleQueso wrote:If we were gonna include emulators we might as well not even bother with the list and just have the word MAME in huge letters in the first post.

Re: Definitive Fighting Game Versions!
Maybe it'd be better to say the thread is less about the "definitive" version of each game and more simply the best home version.
I mean for some stuff like MK2 for example, none of the home ports are arcade perfect so it'd be hard to call any of them 'definitive'

They're glitchy, sped up, and the sound is downsampled and scratchy.TheRev wrote:The Midway arcade treasures versions?AppleQueso wrote:Maybe it'd be better to say the thread is less about the "definitive" version of each game and more simply the best home version.

True, although these results vary greatly depending on which console version you play.AppleQueso wrote:
