The official Racketboy "I Love You Man" thread.

Post by noiseredux »

Doods (and doodettes), we all lost a good friend recently on this forum. And it has gotten me thinking a lot lately... I've come across several PC Engine factoids that I wish I could share with Breetai. And then I get to thinking about something I think many of us have felt since his passing: I WISH he was still here so I could say "man, your passion for this console is awesome!" -- or whatever it is you wish you could tell him.

So I thought a thread where we could live in the now, and tell each other those things would be cool, even if a bit emo.

Don't feel obliged, but if you have a thought of good cheer that you want to share publicly here's your chance.

I'll start.

mjmjr25: (Cue Golden Girls theme song) You're a good friend man. You've been there to talk to me about game stuff and non-game stuff whenever I need. And I appreciate that, bro. Thanks.

dsheinem: The Racketboy podcast is awesome. And you put a LOT of work into it. Thank you.

michi: Your movie reviews are one of the main reasons I even check the movie thread. Keep it up!

Luke: you are probably the most honest person on this board. You are always LUKE and I appreciate that big time.

Stark: you have great fucking taste in games, man.

gamerforlife: your "Games Beaten" descriptions are always so thorough, even when I don't agree with you I enjoy reading your takes on games.

sevin0seven: you are probably the friendliest person I've ever encountered.

I approve of this. I'll throw some shouts out there.

Xeogred: You helped invigorate my love for mecha and have proved to be the ultimate bro since. Hope our conversations continue for a long time. Brofist.

noiseredux: We played Ninja Turtles once. That was pretty sick dog. But really, you've proven to be my favorite mod here and one of my favorite members. I dream of the day you can install a noise reduced guitar recording room in my home while wearing a monochrome Mega Man suit.

elmagicochrisg: One member as pessimistic as me that I can always count on bitching nearly as much as me. We've had some good chats, keep em coming.

Flake: Are wa Gandamu? I've always enjoyed your posts and Gundam conversation/gaming trading. That one post you dropped in that Inazuma thread, shat bricks. Seriously though, you make some quality posts.

o.pwuaioc: Our destined Barcade meeting, one day, shall happen. Until then, let us rock the IRC channel like none other.

dsheinem: Sorry I puked in your yard dude.

There are so many good people on here, I don't want to leave anyone out accidentally or disappoint someone by not including them. I'd like to think that the people I've clicked with mostly know it. I'm on many IM programs and while I don't always start conversations, I can often be counted on to ramble amusingly once you get me started, as long as you can put up with me occasionally bitching about something or other.

Big up to people who run hi-score threads, shmup of the month, together retro, etc. It keeps things fun.

I tend to come and go from this forum, since I tend to game more in the winter when I can't longboard/skateboard all the time. But, whenever I stop by and post, it's always a good experience. I read a lot more than I post (if you can't tell by my join date and post count). Still, the general friendly attitude around here is awesome.

Racketboy: Thanks for letting me help with securing your server from the last hack on the site, rather than trying to sue me when I e-mailed you with details of how the hackers were getting in. You'd be surprised how other site admins react when they get those types of e-mails.

P.S., there was a new wordpress vulnerability recently, and I made sure you weren't vulnerable

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

I'm sure I'll add to this as I go. I'm not super familiar with a lot of people here and I'm sure I've had a back/forth with a few of them, but as they say "its just business" lol.

Luke: Insightful, funny, and tends to have a lot of the same tastes as I do about movies for the most part. Even to the point where if I read a blurb about Movie X by him, I can usually tell myself I'll feel the same as he does when I watch it (and I do).

Michi: Movie reviews.. 'nuff said!
