Any new talk of a REZ sequel?
Any new talk of a REZ sequel?
Anyone have any info? I just remember reading back about 2 years ago about a potential sequel hitting.

Well, if the XBLA version sells well, there might be a sequel. I haven't heard/read anyhting about it, though.

i bought and i play xbla version a lot. my dc version is part of the bad euro print so i gotta beat my dreamcast before it actually runs it. xbla version is nice tho.
Re: Any new talk of a REZ sequel?
I started on DC then moved to ps2 then to xbla which is definetly the best. Anyway hopefully if the xbla version has (and continues) to sell well then we will get a sequel of some sort

Rez seems like the kind of game to me that doesn't need a sequel. It was so perfect. I'd check it out if there ever was one though

According to Miz he is considering a true sequel. it is not up to him as it is a Sega property not Q Entertainment.
I've heard him more often mention It is his idea to update the game with new technologies that will advance the original core components of the game. He has mentioned that he has similar idea's that would not be "rez" sequels but draw from the same inspiration. I'd say its more likely we'll see a new game with some of the core components of Rez. I would prefer that over a sequels anyway. Rez is perfect already.

I thought he had to get the rights back from sega to be able to do the xbla version?gradualmeltdown wrote:According to Miz he is considering a true sequel. it is not up to him as it is a Sega property not Q Entertainment.

Indeed. He and Q Entertainment did have to get the licence back from SEGA.gennss wrote:I thought he had to get the rights back from sega to be able to do the xbla version?gradualmeltdown wrote:According to Miz he is considering a true sequel. it is not up to him as it is a Sega property not Q Entertainment.

SEGA's logo doesn't even appear in the XBLA version, right? (I don't have it) Anyway, I don't know what kind of deal they had to make, but I'm pretty sure SEGA had nothing to do with this one.
I still think video games being considered as "work for hire" is insane.

wonder why they didn't pull out the Sega logo on the start screen in Rez HD. It is still on the press start screen after boot up. Not doubting that Miz licensed it back, but it seems like Sega still has a hand in the game.
