RPGs with New Game+

Post by KoLAddict »

What RPGs do y'all know of that have New Game+, and what does the New Game+ rollover from the previous playthrough (if you remember)?

I know of some of the most obvious ones, like Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Demon/Dark Souls, and Final Fantasy XIII-2. New Game+ is a huge plus in my book, and something all RPGs should include.

I've actually gone as far as to take Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP, and used the Lion Editor to create New Game+ in the game for me. Whenever I beat the game and start over, I just use the editor to modify my character's stats as I get them and put all my inventory back in order.
Huge RPG fan.

The Tales of Symphonia titles definitely have a New Game+. I'm not sure about the other Tales games.

I've never cared for the concept, to be honest.

Same here. I tried it once on Chrono Trigger, and it made the game so easy it was like playing with cheats. Not really any fun.

Well, being overpowered helps skip through the game and see desired endings.

Chrono Cross - it gives you a Fast Forward button even.

Persona 4
Final Fantasy X-2
Shadow Hearts
Mana Khemia

Those I know for sure have them. I'm pretty sure Persona 3, Nocturne, the Star Ocean games, and the Tales games all have them, or at least the newer ones.

I like New Game+ because sometimes I want to replay a game for the story, and don't necessarily want to grind through the whole thing. Also, for games with multiple endings, as was mentioned previously, it's nice being able to rush through the game to see the other endings. I know in this day and age you can just YouTube alternate endings, but it's not the same as earning it yourself.

Chrono Trigger being my favorite example, followed by Chrono Cross. Chrono Cross was nice because it did give the alternate features.
