Dreamcast Homebrews worth playing?

Post by TheRev »

Fast Striker and Last Hope are kind of just MEH for me. DUX is a glorified Flash game.

So the indie games on Dreamcast for the most part aren't doing it for me.

I was wondering if there were any decent homebrews I can burn myself that might be worth my time. So far the only really awesome thing I've downloaded for my Dreamcast is copy of Marvel VS Capcom 2 that changes the horrible butt jazz to 90s House music.

Play the original, not the mods. It's made by Senile Team.

I'll give it a shot, there's also Bare Knuckle Vacuum I might give a look at too.

I'm not sure what that is. But I've played a few of the BOR mods.

Other than the proper game, I'd also recommend Splatterhouse Trilogy (which isn't remakes of the 3 real games, but instead 3 unique homebrew games that use the style of Splatterhouse 3).

And Simpsons Arcade which is seriously a homebrew remake of the Simpsons Arcade. It's far from perfect, but until the game was officially ported to XBLA/PSN last year it was actually a pretty impressive alternative.

There's a Kill Bill mod that I was really excited to play, but sadly it was very very short. Like you can beat it in about 10 mins short.

I tend to only look into BOR mods if there's some compelling reason for me to do so though. Like you said, there's a lot of them.

I liked the Resident Evil ''Crisis Evil'' BOR games. Of course I love RE. I still need to get some CD-R's any try a bunch more including the original.
