Cave, Raizing, Taito, Konami, Irem?
Who is your favorite? for me it's a toss up between Raizing and Cave.
Favorite Shmup Company?
Re: Favorite Shmup Company?
Probably Toaplan, for me. It's tough to say, since I love so many shmup companies, but the early Toaplan stuff really does it for me.

Re: Favorite Shmup Company?
Toaplan eventually morphed into Cave and Raizing if I recall didn't it?
Re: Favorite Shmup Company?
In a sense. Toaplan folded, and the developers went on to join / create Raizing, Cave, Takumi and Gazelle.

Compile, Konami, and Irem. What can I say? I like old games...
Re: Favorite Shmup Company?
Nothing wrong with liking old games.
I was playing R-Type Leo today, EASY GAME EASY too easy even.

Toaplan all day, although Technosoft is a pretty close second.

Technosoft I don't know about their shooters. Something is to be said about the music making their games possibly better than they really are. (Nekkatsu Oyako for example)

I am no expert shmup player...so, I consider grinding through the original R-Type one of my greatest gaming acheivements (even though I am certain that there are people here who could 1cc it).TheRev wrote:Nothing wrong with liking old games.

Axelay (SNES) and Life Force (NES) are the only shmups that I really consider "easy"...
