Anarchy Reigns
So how do people like this so far? It seems well liked by the press, and I hear it being compared to God Hand a bit. I was thinking of buying it on a whim but I figured I'd ask my favorite community what it thinks first.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: Anarchy Reigns
I haven't bought it yet but I poured many hours into the demo, it's great. It really does feel like a successor to God Hand finally, in tone, humor, gameplay, and just about everything. Madworld can't touch this. I'm sure the singleplayer will be good, but the multiplayer is nuts and great fun. If you've played God Hand, basically just imagine playing a beat em up deathmatch or team deathmatch God Hand style. It's pure off the wall insanity. While not quite as technical as God Hand, the combat system is awesome. There were some balance issues here and there, but hopefully that stuff has been polished out. Maybe try the demo on the Japanese PSN if it's still up if you're on the fence.
Also not to be a dick but we have a thread.

Re: Anarchy Reigns
I'm thinking about trading in some of my old stuff that I'll never play, and picking it up. What's cool is that it's set in the MadWorld Universe. I might even get it on PS3 over Xbox 360. I see mixed reviews on it, and few of them at that. Again, more of SoA's media woes.

Re: Anarchy Reigns
The God Hand comparisons are a bit of a turn off to me, as I found God Hand frustratingly hard. Plus, a lot of people just overrate that game a LOT. However, from the one or two reviews I've read the game is more like God Hand in style than difficulty as I haven't read any indication that the campaign is super hard. That's cool in my book, as I never took issue with God Hand's style or humor, just its game play. I found Bayonetta to be FAR better than God Hand in the gameplay department.
I'm still cautious on this one though, as I don't like games that are too multi-player focused. However, I've heard that the campaign is good and that the mulit-player part of the game can be played with bots. EVERY multi-player game should have an AI bots option. So kudos to them for that. I will say one thing that has me kind of wanting to play it is this fun video:

Like I said I've only played the demo, but the singleplayer wasn't very difficult. Mowing down normal enemies could be done with your eyes closed, the characters are very powerful. The boss battle was fairly difficult, but nothing even close to God Hand levels.Gamerforlife wrote:The God Hand comparisons are a bit of a turn off to me, as I found God Hand frustratingly hard.

Re: Anarchy Reigns
I picked this game up in August last year while in Japan. To me it is basically a sequel to Mad World on the Wii.
I really enjoyed it, but the campaign is lacking. It is a very online focused game so if the online community doesn't take off you are stuck with the campaign or bot matches...

Re: Anarchy Reigns
When I played MadWorld, I thought, I wish I could play this using the 360 controller instead, and I was gonna pick this up on 360, but since it is very multiplayer focused I might get it on PS3 so I don't have to pay for live...
