I recently took the plunge and attempted to mod my Series 2 (round button) Saturn. I followed the excellent MMMonkey guide to the letter. However, when I switched the machine on all I got was the power light. The disc drive doesn't spin at all and I don't have any picture.
For the technically astute, I have used two switches - one for the 50-60Hz conversion and another to switch the region (Jap/US/PAL). The switch for the 50-60Hz is an 'on-on' type and the other one is an 'on-off-on' type.
I have checked and double checked the wiring but cannot get the damned thing to work.
Any suggestions what I might have done wrong?
I had thought to try to 'crank up' the CD ROM by adjusting the orange pot but I suspect that may not be the problem. The machine (including CD ROM) worked fine beforehand.
I look forward to hearing from someone!
Thanks!
P.S. On another Saturn modding job I accidentally snapped the pin off the chip on the PCB (pin 79, I think). Can this be re-attached or have I written the board off?
PAL Saturn multi-region and 60hz conversion problems.
