The site has a couple guides for them already, this one for cheap games specifically, and the games that defined it, which includes some pricier titles.

I'd go through those to see if there's something you find interesting.

Honestly, I put the Sega CD in the same category as the Turbo CD or Saturn. If you want quality games, you have to bite the bullet and pony up the dough.

I was able to get NBA Jam and Sega Classics Arcade Collection (4-in-1) today for about $15. Both are decent, I'd especially recommend the 4-in-1 if you don't already have the Genesis versions of Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, Columns, or Golden Axe.

oddly I was introduced to all four games when the Sega CD launched with that disc.

If you like fighting games I highly recommend Eternal Champions CD...it is a really tight and difficult fighting game with tons of hidden characters that are hilarious to unlock and a ton of ultra violent fatalities that, in all honest, demolish mortal kombat.

Other great games that I played and loved are Sonic CD, Lunar, Shining Force CD (a remake of the Game Gear versions that doesn't stack up to Shining Force 1 & 2 but still really really fun), Wing Commander CD (A fully voiced rendition of the game which actually worked well with the system). Snatcher is a great interactive fiction with some action elements from Hideo Kojima which is a really really awesome experience inspired by Blade Runner, Heart of the Alien (Sequel to Out of this World and really interesting game),

If you want cheese factors...well..you have a LOT to work with. Great FMV games like Crime Patrol, Supreme Warrior, Night Trap, Double Switch, Kris Kros: Make My Video, INXS: Make My video, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch: Make My Video (great because that is Mark Wahlberg) and sooooo much more!

The ports for Final Fight, Earthworm Jim, and Ecco the Dolphin 1-2 are definitely worth getting on the Sega CD.
