I am hesitant...but intrigued. I will have to read the author's work that this is based off of..but the concept of the multiverse seems really exciting and interesting. Much like the .hack universe, the idea of playing a game within a game has a lot of unique potential. Why I am hesitant, though is on what they have shown. A focus on combat only, it is in closed beta though, and I understand that the majority of MMO players work on combat and item collection as their sole reason to play, so emphasizing that aspect in their marketing is a must.

I will have to give it a shot when it comes out, since it is free to play...what have I got to lose?

Thanks for the heads up on that!

The fact that we haven't seen this already shows you how lazy and complacent Nintendo is with this franchise. Zelda's so behind the times it's ridiculous

Or they realize that the voice acting wouldn't really add anything and would probably piss off half the fans by giving certain characters full voices.

Look, in my opinion Generations is a good fun game. But its gameplay is very different to what I loved about the Mega Drive games. Generations is like Sonic Adventure 1&2 at their best: a roller coaster ride. It's a fun experience. It held my interest and never bored me. But it also failed to make me come back to it. And that is because the levels aren't designed around precision jumping.

This isn't bad. It's just a difference in taste. The Sonic franchise has started having good games again. And that's great. But I wish they could make games based on tight platforming again instead of being in a roller coaster. But, if they are not going to make a game like that, I'm pretty happy that they made something good like generations instead.

Now NSMB, that series is just shit. I'm sorry but if you went back in time and told my 14 year old self that he would become bored of Mario games in the future (Mario Galaxy being the awesome exception ofc), he would have never believed you. Yet here I am, having missed 2 Mario games (3 if you count the fact that I never actually bought, just borrowed the Wii version) which would have been crazy for me in the past.

I really wish the series can recover. Mario can do amazing 2D. Make it happen Ninty :'(

Yeah, I hope Zelda never gets full voice acting. I'd like to have one series left that isn't forcing hokey voice actors on my ears.

Excuses, excuses. It's 2012. There's no excuse for ANY major franchise to not have voice acting. Get with the times Nintendo. Evolve the series or kill it.

Apart from the fact that it's another expense in the production that doesn't really add anything to the game AND it can/will destroy the way many fans perceive Link (and others) as a character? That's why WRPGs have a lot less text and dialogue these days, because everything has to have voice acting. It's too expensive, so they just cut the amount of text&dialogue instead so we can have games like Skyrim and Fallout 3/New Vegas. Arrow to the knee/Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

Zelda doesn't even have multiplayer. The game should totally evolve and have team deathmatch in the next game.

DKC Returns is awesome, as is Sonic Generations.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I'm not willing to debate about SonicG, but DKCR awesome? Really? Waggle to roll wasn't what I was dreaming of in a DKC sequel
