Any other Rubiks Cube nuts here?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

doesn't seem to hard... basic idea in my head right now is:

move semi-block face of block you want to adjust away from cube face you want to move it to
turn opposite face to line up
turn into place
repeat

considering all blocks on it are 3 way shared face blocks the number of combinations are limited meaning the chances of screwing up a face with out simple repair is lower. Really by considering this mere fact if you properly solve one face (making sure to match coinciding faces of each piece) the whole entire thing would be solved.

it's really not that simple, even if you solve the top layer, the bottom is still messed up. you need an algorithm or two to shuffle the bottom pieces into the proper order, and different algorithms to orient them properly. its no different than solving the last layer corners of a normal cube. I do like your thinking though.

pentaminx? holy crap....

a 6x6x6 or 7x7x7 might be fun, im good with the 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 though. I want that pantone color cube. The sudoku cubes are just frustrating, I solved one once and have no desire to solve one again lol

My brother gave me one of these for christmas, about as nerdy of a gift as one can give. Image

Hey, a Rubik's cube thread! I totally used to go to UC Berkely for the official competitions. Its been on the back burner for a bit now, but I was thinking about starting to learn the OLL algs again.

I used to have up to the 7x7, which took me way too long to solve. I sold a lot of it, but kept the 4x4 and a few good 3x3s.

Pretty awesome to see some other cubers here, if we had enough people it would be cool to have some small-time competitions, if just to push us all to get faster :)

Kinda going off tanget with this toy. Its got the Rubiks name on it:

Its called the Rubiks Revolution. Its a rubicks cube only in name.

it has muliple games in it. I've owned about 4 of them in the past few years. My cousins/nieces/nephews love it. I had to give them away to them since they were crying cause they wanted to take it home with them.

Its a mix of Simon and Merlin and other electronic pattern games.

They can be found pretty cheap all over the place.

I always wanted to go to a "real" competition. I'd be down for a 3x3 average scoreboard or something. I just recently got a dayan 3x3... it's amazing. I got my 10 cube average back under 30 seconds for the first time in years, and hit a few non-lucky's around 21 or 22 seconds. This is the one I got:
