What did the N64 do better than the PS1 and Saturn?

I'm actually despite my age of 31 new to the N64 it wasn't until Retrobit made a controller I'm comfortable using that I gave the N64 a look.

I'm guessing I'm already on the right track My current games are Star Fox 64, Bomberman 64, Star Soldier 64, Mario Kart 64 (JP) Sin and Punishment, F-Zero X, and Mischief makers.

I hacked away at the dust cover with Pliers so it's import friendly. That said besides what the guide here says what besides Mario 64, and Conker and KI Gold be checking out?

Imports are just fine of course but I think with Sin and Punishment, I'm pretty much set.

Oh and while I'm here, Mario Kart 64 and F-Zero X are a bit heavier than my other carts, do they have battery back ups?

Banjo-Kazooie is a must, along with Banjo-Tooie which is alot more of a challenge.

Also PS1 for RPG's, N64 for Platformers.

Agreed. Super Mario 64, for example, is way better than any Mario game on the Saturn and Playstation.

You need Mischief Makers and Ogre Battle 64.

He already listed Mischief Makers, but totally agreed on both suggestions. These are two excellent games.

Ogre Battle 64 > Tactics Ogre
Mario Kart 64 > Any cart racing on PS1/Sat
GoldenEye/Perfect Dark/Doom64 > most FPS's on PS1/Sat

I also won't pretend that Dezaemon is phenomenal, but it's definitely a JP only shmup you should import.
