Still playing, still getting the hang of it. Finding many side quests to do for EXP. Still at level 1, but have good weapons and equipment. Understanding the battle system a lot more. That fight with the guy outside the Friendly Inn (Tarnesh) took me a few attempts! Finished everything here and will continue on to Beregost next. I now have 4 members in my party.

Oh man, I don't know if I'm going to get through this one. I have so many other games I'm trying to play.

Downloading from good old games right now.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I played the tutorial on the extended edition and while i used to play D&D a little bit I love the stats and such, I'm not to good at managing groups. I've never liked RTS games, Shining Force was the closest thing that i enjoyed. I'm hoping that I get the hang of party management pretty quick, otherwise back to JRPGs for me.

The trick is to set up a lot of pauses and not be afraid to pause mid-battle. I keep a pause on enemy sighted, target gone, low health, and spell cast. This means I don't miss any thing critical. If things start to get hectic you should hit space and take the time you need to reevaluate what's going on.

You say "keep a pause" you are referring to manually pausing the game right, or am I missing something?

IMO healing is still important enough to make me want to be a Paladin.

In the options menu you can set up automatic pauses. So when your party is exploring you can set it so that when an enemy comes into view the game automatically pauses (as well as the other ones I mentioned).

Yup, this is good advice. I've been using this since pretty much the start.

So, thinking of starting this tonight. Any advice before I dive in beyond what's been stated in the thread already?

I sure hope I don't lose patience too quickly. The game seems fun from the few videos I've watched of it.
