the translation is pretty spot on, that the Japanese dialog was just as confusing and nonsensical.

I can say this much is true. Even my girlfriend heard the cutscenes and was like "WTF are you playing? Eroge??"

Ok, I'm playing the PAL PS2 version of this game but I don't see any cut scenes at all. Is there a way to activate them or is the PS2 version without them?

I have the JPN PS2 version. There is a toggle before you choose a character asking you if you want the cutscenes or not. I don't know about NTSC-U or PAL versions.

Ahh, that's what that is. On the DC-J version there is an option to have something "on" or "off" but I had no idea what it was.

The story is plain stupid regardless of what language you play it in. It's mostly as I'd expect, but it is amusing at times.
