try shiming a cart forward or back with playing cards. Its possible that the slot is wider than it should be due to the Game Genie. Also, try cleaning it with a piece of tshirt on the cardboard, instead of just cardboard.
Edit, I see that CRT had the same thought I had about the slot being wider. I do not know if it is common on the SNES, but worth a shot.

The cartridge slot could definitely be slightly expanded or have pin connection problems.
I've already tried a bit of shimming but just by using my hand to hold the cart in place. I'll give playing cards a try.
