That is a fantastic idea. I might steal it.

My favorite episode is "The German". Yours?
"Basil the Rat" was always my favorite episode. The face of that health inspector as he comes face to face with the rat was one of my favorite moments in the entire series.

They sell this at a corner store around the block from me. So if you're ever in Atlanta, just let me know, chief.

Frown: Snowed in, quite literally. I'd have to trek a half mile to my car to dig it out of drifts to go anywhere.

Smile: I am a sucker for these year-end threads and have been having far too much nerdy fun calculating my various game-related stats and collecting my game-related thoughts today.

Looks like the Midwest got the least of this storm front, and decided to give it all to you! If you don't have to go anywhere, it's not a problem. Hopefully you didn't have travel plans Dave.

As to your game stats for 2012, are you satisfied with where you went with your collection, and how many games you completed?

Consistently so? That's awesome if so. It's good stuff. Alas, I'm not headed to Atlanta any time soon. I got one of those double whammy tickets, a big fine for speeding, and then a bigger fine for going over 80. That latter one never got paid...

:D : It's now new years and I'm feeling much better. My cold is pretty much gone.

:( : Mom has unfortunately managed to catch my cold. Oops. I've given her all of my Kleenex in an effort to repent.

We spent the new year at 1-Up downtown. Fun stuff!

Do you know how long its been since I've been able to play full 6 player X-men on a real cabinet?

I felt like a little kid again.

Surrounded by a bunch of rowdy drunks of course, but hey.

I also had a couple of compliments from strangers on my Superboy t-shirt, which was surprising. Cool though. :)

o.pwuaioc wrote::) Found some imported Mexican Coca Cola!

:( Tastes the same to me as regular corn syrup coke.
I can taste a small but distinct difference. Nothing that would stop me from drinking corn Coke but I do like the Mexican stuff better.

Some people's sense of taste is more sensitive than others. I can taste the difference between the two types of coke but one of my brothers can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi.

Smile: This kid.

Smile: Last night was a blast. Fawlty Towers, Catch Phrase, champagne toasts, a long kiss at midnight, and an hour and a half of a hilarious "yo mama" throw down. I say hilarious because it wasn't a diss competition, more of a "make fun of yo mama jokes" competition. There were lots of hits and misses, joke wise, but the hits killed. Like in stand up, it's all about the timing and delivery. One of my friends made "Yo mama is so in shape that she only needed to buy the p90x base package" laugh out loud funny.* Another one so awful it killed was "Your mamas leg length is so disproportionate that she looks like a pencil compass, and she can only walk in circles".

Had to be there?

*One of the major keys to making this game funny is to have a large group of people shouting "OOooooooohh!" after every joke no matter how funny or unfunny it is.

:) Since last night have been on a cleaning binge. My mom, brother, his girlfriend and the girls (my niece and common-law stepniece, from the gf's previous relationship) went to Florida yesterday to spend some time with my brother's ex-gf/mother of his first child (so basically, my bro and his gf each have a kid from a past relationship and a kid of their own) and her grandmother, and I've decided to straighten up the house. I've already:

* cleared out all the crap I just tossed into my closet (mostly bedding, bags and clothes)
* washed the laundry (there was at least 3-4 loads worth of laundry, mostly from my closet)
* wiped down the stovetop and countertop
* cleaned out the cupboards, and in the process managed to take out the broken under-cabinet can opener
* took out a few bags of trash

:( a lot of little/not-quite-big things

* cleaning out the closet cleared out a potential roach nest (not big ones, just small ones, so it's not like the scene from Creepshow)
* didn't get a can of Raid to kill the roaches
* still gotta clean under my bed (no doubt another roach city)
* still gotta clear and clean out the deep freezer
* wish I had a bit more money for things to help with straightening up my house (totes to replace any cardboard boxes, maybe some shelving, et al)
* once again copped out on an attempt to watch The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (got about a half-hour in)
* stayed up late last night and slept till about 1:30 in the afternoon today

The small ones are the worse ones. The big roaches are often wood roaches, and come in from the outside. The small ones are the German roaches, and they are the indicator of uncleanliness and an infestation. Take care of those ASAP!
