New Monitor/Display recommendations
I am trying to replace a gigantic 21" Sony Trinitron with a display that is good for my pc and playing my old consoles like dreamcast, snes, genesis. I am hoping to keep the price lower by not buying an hdtv but getting a pc display that has an svideo and/or composite in. Anyone seen a display like this?

No but I do believe there are converters for composite. And my PC came w/ an SVideo to Component which can be converted into VGA or DVI. Just take some time to look. And for the record they wont have the best resolution but 19" HDTV's 720p can be had for $1-200 and I would be willing to bet some of them VGA and minijack imput.

There is this item on amazon:
Basically, I am trying to see if I will save any money going the display plus vga box route vs. getting an hdtv and using it as a monitor (which may have some issues with resolution).

That would work fine. Its all up to you though, frankly, I had my 360 hooked up to my moniter and still wish I hadnt gone back to HDTV just because the detail is so high. Never tried retro games though, sure you see all the imperfections but I feel its safe to say that the color sharpness is worth it.fitterhans wrote:There is this item on amazon:
