-Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis)
-Chrono Cross (PS1)
-House of the Dead 2 (Dreamcast) - I do own it, but my copy ALWAYS glitches in level 2. You can't see the enemies but they still attack you. Yet the disc looks perfect, not a single scratch.
-Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes (Dreamcast)
-Panzer Dragoon: Zwei (Saturn)
-Twisted Metal 1 & 2 (PS1)

Amazingly, I have played through all but one of those games (Breath of Fire). They are all very, very good, and if you are planning on playing through all of them, then you have a lot of good times ahead of you.

I've played through many of them, but don't have them in my collection. Had them when I was younger, or I rented them. BoF, HoTD 2, M vs. C, and Twisted Metal 1 & 2 I've played through, and Contra III I've played (but not finished). I just REALLY want them back in my collection again to play through again. The other ones I haven't played, though.

work on my Atari 7800, Lynx, Sega CD, saturn, dreamcast, and other systems library's. Possibly get a Atari Jaguar and ST. Get a DSI XL, Neo Geo CD, and just work on libraries in general.

Just finish more games. When I look at how many games I've finished over the year ... compared up to what other people have finished, it's like ... what people complete in a month. You guys are crazy :P

Buy at least 1 game for every system I own:

GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS
NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii
SMS, GEN, Sega CD, Saturn, DC, Game Gear
PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP
Xbox, Xbox 360
Turbografx 16
Neo Geo Pocket Color
3DO
Atari 2600
Intellivision

Add at least 2 new consoles to my collection:

Virtual Boy and maybe a 7800 are what I am leaning towards... but we'll see what the garage sale season brings. Would love a TurboDuo, Neo Geo, Jaguar... just that price is prohibitive.

Pick up at least 3 "rare" games to have some corner stones in my collection:

Leaning towards Panzer Dragoon Saga, Suikoden 2 and EVO but we'll see, Shining Force 3 is also a consideration.

Stretch Goal (one I won't feel bad if I don't get to): Round out my PS1/PS2 RPG collections.

Still need for PS1: Alundra, Alundra 2, Arc the Lad Collection, Brave Fencer Musashi, Breath of Fire 3, Breath of Fire 4, Dragon Warrior VII, Grandia, Jade Cocoon, Koudelka, Legend of Legaia, Legend of Mana, Lunar Silver Star Story, Parasite Eve, Persona, Persona 2, Suikoden, Suikoden 2, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Destiny 2, Vagrant Story, Wild Arms

Still need for PS2: all the .hack games, Arc the Lad End of Darkness, Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter, Digital Devil Saga 2, Final Fantasy X-2, Suikoden 4, Suikoden 5, Magna Carta, Metal Saga, Odin Sphere, Musashi Samurai Legend, Persona 3, Radiata Stories, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner 2, Steambot Chronicles, all of the Tales games, Wild Arms 5, Wild Arms Alter Code F, Xenosaga Episode 2

That's it. For the most part I actually want to cut back a bit this year... getting married in September and it isn't going to be cheap.

My aim is to NOT buy ANY games in 2013, as I have got the two Zelda DS games and Final Fantasy 3 (as well as Pokemon Black 2) to play. I also have Super Metroid and Ocarina of Time on the Wii VC, so technically all of those games should be more than enough. Plus I've never completed a Zelda, Metroid or Final Fantasy game, and I feel that is a shameful fact.

I would like to get into shmups but I really have no idea where to start. I have a Saturn and no prob with imports. I was thinking of starting with donpachi maybe, but I don't really know what else so I will probably ask for help on the board in near future.

most of my goals here are kinda rambling, probably won't hit all of these but I'm definitely gonna try:

Libraries:
-build up the collections of my most currently neglected systems. I have only a handful of games for Game Boy (currently only 5 GB, 2 GBC, and 4 GBA), Turbo Grafx (6), and Sega Master System (7) right now and want to build those up.
-To a lesser extent, I'd like to build up my Atari 2600 (13), Saturn (11) and Dreamcast (10) collections as well.
-Most of the popular Wii titles should start really dropping in price soon, so I'd like to jump on that and built up a better Wii library while the prices are good.

Hardware
-Get a new Sega CD and built a modest library for that. I briefly had one, but got rid of it for some reason.
-Hori Gamecube GBPlayer controller.
-Get a pong console. Maybe a Telstar or something.
-Get more second generation consoles and built up some modest libraries for them. Colecovision, Intelllivision, Odyssey2, Vectrex, whatever.
-Virtual Boy, perhaps?
-Master System Light Phaser. How else am I going to play Safari Hunt and Rescue Mission?
-More N64 controllers. I only have one!

Misc
-Continue doing what I've been doing with building up the Nintendo side of my library.
-Finish getting the first two or three years or so of Nintendo Power.
-Try and finish re-building my childhood Game Boy, N64, SNES, and NES libraries. I'm pretty close to this one.
-Work more on my NES game. See if I can get the engine solidly built and maybe some test levels and a solid design document put together.
-See more games that I start through to the end. I'm not concerned too much about backlogs, but I'd like to actually regularly finish the games I start.

If you can find one, I really recommend the Pelican GCN Retro Pad instead. I just scooped one up for $16 NIB online (last one in stock, or I'd link ya - sorry), and it's a really solid controller, with fluidly responsive d-pad + buttons. Nice and sturdy too, like a phat SNES pad. I love it; certainly beats coughing up over $100 for the Hori alternative.

^I remember reading about the pelican ones on here a good while back. I tried to hunt one down, but it seems like they've all been snatched up.

I'll probably end up just throwing down the cash for the Hori one. I don't really mind.

Games I'd like to buy:
Bullet Soul (360)
Legend of Heroes II, III, and Trails in the Sky (PSP)
Ys I & II, Oath in Felghana, The Ark of Napishtim, VII (PSP)
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (PS2)
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (PSP)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS)
more versions of Beatmania IIDX for PS2 and maybe a fancy-pants controller

I will buy a Wii U as soon as Dragon Quest X is announced for North American release and 3DS for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. I'm not holding my breath. :/

*HOWEVER* I'd also seriously like to shrink my backlog over the year. So I shouldn't be dropping tons of cash on long RPGs before beating more of what I have...
INNER CONFLICT!

I'm also thinking I'll create another game in 2013. I'm not sure if it will be a sequel to Unemployment Quest or not.
