Donkey Kong Country Returns

Pretty much everything I would post has been done multiple times already. However, there is one game that was hugely important to me on the Wii that literally only one person has mentioned: Monster Hunter Tri. Quite possibly my number 1 Wii game (and at the very least the one that I've played the most by far), I found Monster Hunter Tri to be extraordinarily entertaining and enjoyable. It was my first Monster Hunter (and actually the first good Monster Hunter game in my opinion) and an amazing experience for anyone who would be susceptible to enjoying the Monster Hunter formula.

Re: With the Wii now 99% done, what were your favorite games
Super Mario Galaxy - An absolutely magnificent game. Without a doubt in my mind the finest 3D Mario game to date.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - An excellent follow-up. While it doesn't surpass the original, it is because it simply delivers more of what the first game offered, which is never a bad thing.
Metroid Prime Trilogy - Metroid Prime was possibly my most favorite GCN game, and being able to play it with Prime 3's controls is positively superb. The fact that Prime 2 and 3 are included almost seem like a bonus, in my eyes.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - I will not lie, I found Twilight Princess to be a tad disappointing, especially after all of the hype toward it. That is why I was absolutely delighted when Skyward Sword was first unveiled--it offered itself as being a far more enjoyable game, and it was.
Metal Slug Anthology - A great collection! I playing all of these games, especially the first three, in a single run is so much fun. I really should replay them again soon.
Sonic Colors - This was Sonic's return to form. A solid platformer that wisely took notes from SMG2.
Monster Hunter Tri - I remember when this game came out that I pumped so many hours into it. I never beat the offline mode, but I would really like to get back into it one day, maybe. Taking down giant monsters with pure skill is such an exhilarating feel.
Donkey Kong Country Returns - I grew up playing the DKC trilogy as a kid, so for me the stakes were set very high. I can safely say that this met the standards. I still love playing those silhouette stages--simply beautiful.
Xenoblade Chronicles - Although I have not played enough of it (sadly) the scope of the game is simply a sight to behold. Coupled with a battle system reminiscent of Final Fantasy XII and you can considered me sold.

The GameCube remake with added NES games and with the fixed world rotation thing was even better.floattube wrote:C'mon guys, nobody liked Animal Crossing City Folk? That was my favorite game on the Wii.

Everyone was mad that it was effectively a port of the DS game.floattube wrote:C'mon guys, nobody liked Animal Crossing City Folk? That was my favorite game on the Wii.
(I didn't play either, though I'm anticipating New Leaf)

It wasn't really a port, it was just a minor upgrade. It did allow for more customizable clothing, allowing you to draw on the sleeves to make them much more unique. The downtown was really disappointing. There wasn't enough there to really make it a seperate location. There were more unique events and npc interactions, but the game just didn't feel like a legitimate sequel.AppleQueso wrote: Everyone was mad that it was effectively a port of the DS game.

The new one for the 3DS though looks REALLY good with a ton of different features like multiplayer mini-games and town customization. I just hope that it is enough to merit a purchase.

Re: With the Wii now 99% done, what were your favorite games
I can see why people would think that, but it's still a great game either way. I'd rather play it on the TV than my DS. Plus there were a few new things about it that were fun. But New Leaf will probably be the reason I get a 3DS.AppleQueso wrote:Everyone was mad that it was effectively a port of the DS game.floattube wrote:C'mon guys, nobody liked Animal Crossing City Folk?
