I highly recommend this guy's YouTube videos about games. He's really smart and knows how to articulate how and why different types of gameplay work.

I just finished Spec Ops: The Line recently and then began playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for comparison's sake. This Errant Signal video hits the nail on the head with a lot of what I've been thinking about lately:
