Hahaha, great pic with great caption. That goes to the song so well. Anyways, I keep hearing that the actual album is good, despite the two singles that are total shitbomb. I may still check out the rest and find out. Puppets and Black are still two of my fav albums of all time, after all.

Metallica went to shit not long after Cliff Burton died. He wrote much of the earlier stuff, and was classically trained at a young age. Hence all the syncopation and fancy musical going-ons of the older music that you don't hear much of anymore.

Lars should have been sitting in the bus that day. All he can do is play a repetitive 4/4 beat (bass, snare, bass, snare). Then they could have replaced him with Dave Lombardo. 8)

Obviously, I have my doubts that they will ever put out anymore quality music. I've only heard the new song on the radio at work. It sounds like a predictable minor scale progression in the vein of "The Unforgiven" - but minus the goodness.

Wait, a GOOD Metallica album. Hmmm, I'll have to check that out and see how I feel about it. Puppets and Black were fantastic. Agree completely. Everything after was hit and miss

I'd say yes you were. I quit paying attention to anything Metallica did when Lars started whining. And then I heard St. Anger and realized I would never be into their music ever again...

Also, I still say the Pogues did the best version of Whiskey in the Jar.

Cliff's music was awesome. If i remember correct he wrote Seek and Destroy which is one of my favorite songs. Not to mention the Orion solo w/ guitar harmony.
