It still is ne of the best animes ever though. Toonami was the gateway drug into anime for me.

I had seen a fair amount of anime before I sat down and watched Bebop and have seen a lot since, and I still think it holds up very well for what it is. It's got a very high amount of high quality and standout episodes for an episodic show. I've only watched through the entire series start to finish once (but had saw some of it on Adult Swim), and I can remember nearly every episode because they were all so good. I suppose I'd agree that it's a bit "over-rated" due to the fact it has an overwhelming amount of fans since it appeal spreads into non-anime fan territory, but I still think it's great.

What looks like it might be even better though is City Hunter, really need to get into that sometime.

I just started watching The World God Only Knows, a brilliant anime about a high schooler who loves dating sims. On the internet, Keima is known as the God of Conquest, greatest dating sim player of all time. But, he has never even held hands with a girl in real life. He calls real life a crappy game. Meanwhile, a demon girl from hell seeks the assistance of a "human buddy" to help her rid human hearts of evil spirits. The only way to get the spirits out is by making the infected person fall in love. So, since Keima is known for "dating," she tricks him into signing a contract, that will forever bind him with the task of helping out demon girl. Little does demon girl know that all this talk about Keima dating women pertains to video games, and not real life. Keima must use what he has learned in video games to make these girls fall in love with him. Reluctance, hilarity, and cartoony explosions ensue.

I highly recommend this anime to anyone who frequents this website. The world of gaming is not unfamiliar to whoever wrote this anime. Enthralling, well written, and hilarious full and through. Even the Sega Saturn is referenced.

Does anyone know exactly how different Robotech is than SDF Macross and the other stuff it uses? I don't think I've ever seen any Robotech.

They made Protoculture a physical energy source of some sort. Beyond that it's just hilarious they fused three entirely separate shows (Macross, Mospeada, Southern Cross) into one. Makes no sense.
