As you guys are saying and from what I'm hearing lately, it does sound common for people to need glasses when they hit their 20's or so. But I don't think it runs in my mom's side of the family at all, not sure about my birth dad though. Maybe I'll ask here sometime.
So yeah, could just be my age. I'll keep you guys posted.

Re: Years of gaming/computing taking a toll on your vision?
Had the exam today and it went pretty well, but it does turn out that I am somehow mildy nearsighted. My vision is 25/30 (or she said 25/35... not sure lol). So with glasses I'll have that 20/20 again. The main issue is that my focus isn't good and it's putting a lot of strain on my eyes and the whole headache thing. She also talked about how dry my ears were, which was an issue for a few years until this year when I changed up my diet a lot and I think that helped a ton... but my allergies continue to get worse by the year, so she also suggested I start taking eye drops pretty much everyday now.
Definitely kicking myself in the ass for not including a vision plan on my insurance, but hey I did not see this coming... haha (pun intended?). Luckily I think I can re-enroll this April so I'll tack that on. It was like $224 for my glasses/prescription, and that's with all these discounts and stuff the lady gave me so that was nice.
Hopefully it stays like this for me and doesn't get worse. I wouldn't mind if they give me a few years and make me look older since I have a baby face, haha. But yeah hopefully I can just be one of those that can get by with or without them, or just use them when I'm at home, or just working (which seems to be the big issue, on my feet 10 hours a day starring down at paperwork, so yeah...). But yeah I'm all for trying it out to see if it helps my migraines.
Currently dilated like crap so probably best I back off from the computer for a few hours and take it easy, haha. Can barely read this.

I've been gaming and sitting in front of one screen or another since I was 5 (I'm 18 now for the record) and my vision's been gradually getting worse. Right now it's a little worse than 20/80.

Have had glasses since Kindergarten, astigmatism.
I guess its just because I'm so used to it, I honestly don't understand people freaking out about not being able to see.
Though, I doubt that gaming has any influence on it. How many years do some people work programming or the like, and in many cases never need glasses?

I have shit vision and I'm colorblind.
I don't think gaming has "taken its toll" as much as my computer use has. I doubt it's made my vision worse, but it certainly contributes to my eye dryness and occasional twitching.

You get that too? Is it your eyelid, or the eyes themselves?BoneSnapDeez wrote:occasional twitching.

Mostly the lids. Generally begins the morning after a late-night computer binge.

For the past few years I've noticed this happening with my eyes also. Seems to be at random, though, and in fits and starts; Haven't noticed it at all in a while.
