Help me find this genesis game?

I played before, but cannot remember or seem to find again, a Genesis game.
The game was a side scroller shooter played similar to Metal Slug/Contra, but a bit faster paced with a little more unrealistic enemies and stuff..
Did have multiplayer.

Any ideas? I'm on my way to bed now and anyone able to help me gets 2 internet cookies!

Seems like Gunstar Heroes would be anyone's best guess. On the off chance you actually mean Contra Hard Corps, I'll throw that out there. if you could think of anything else a little more specific, like a boss or something, I'm sure it would help narrow it down a bit.

I haven't played any of my classic consoles in 3+ years. Going to be digging them out in the next few weeks and wanted to add this game to my collection.

Alien Solder is a crazy game, and happens to be developed by Treasure, the same folks that developed Gunstar Heroes. Its a bit pricey, so you may want to try a rom of it before you buy, but its definitely worth giving a go.

Alien Soldier is one of the best 2D action games ever made imo, I enjoy it a lot more than Gunstar Heroes but obviously both are great.
