You never know, though -- jokes aside, it might be entertaining in some way or other. I've read two books along those lines, just to get a sense for the opposing viewpoint. One was thoughtful, the other was alarmist garbage -- but both were interesting.

From an old friend I got:
Myst V
Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale
From racketboy members:
Puzzle Dimension
The Dream Machine
Chaos on Deponia
My wife and I also both got the Dexter board game and the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures board game (which is really fun and I recommend you find a copy of)
I received lot of portable gaming goodness, and I increased the size of my 3DS library substantially:
Cave Story 3D (3DS)
Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)
Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask (3DS)
Steel Diver (3DS)
Super Mario Sticker Star (3DS)
Professor Layton & The Last Specter (DS)
The Last Story (Wii)

Overall, I am very pleased with my holiday haul!
A lot of those 3DS games interest me. Definitely want to know what you think of Cave Story 3D, Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask, and Super Mario Sticker Star.
I got very few games this year, as I mostly asked for apartment supplies so my fiancee and I would have one less thing to worry about when we get our place. I did manage to get:
Paper Mario: Sticker Star(3ds)
Rhythm Thief and the emperor's treasure(3ds)
3ds points card(hellloooo Crimson Shroud!)
In response to ZenErik's comment, I have to say that Sticker Star is a lot of fun but it is VERY light on the RPG elements, so if you go in expecting a pure RPG you'll be disappointed. Battles are the traditional Paper Mario formula but with a few tweaks that make it a lot of fun. There are no levels, so progression is done zelda style(finding hearts, etc).
