I think someone once made a thread about what we'd do if someone in our own community passed away. It's sad to see that it has actually happened.

Very sorry to hear this. I didn't have any direct contact with him, but I can say he was amongst a short list of people on racketboy that I truly appreciated for their posts and contribution to the community. He was always very nice and very knowledgable.

It's such a tragedy to lose someone like him. I hope his daughter is okay. From the picture in the first post, she is such a cutie-pie, and her smile as well as her eyes look exactly like her dad's. A hug for the entire family.

Hi all, I would like to thank you for the wonderful responses. I went over to see the Cheslocks earlier this evening and they are in good spirit otherwise. We shared some tears, hugs and laughter over stories of Blake and Hinako.

A quick update on things: Hinako has a broken arm and some bruising. She's in a sling for a while and will be in some pain but Mrs Cheslock told me that she'll heal fine. Hinako is safe back home with her mother and I was told she keeps saying "Daddy's car's broken" which really makes me choke up every time I think about it.

With it being the holidays, and everything being closed here in Dryden, the family doesn't have an exact date for Blakes service but it will be on the 29th or 31st. I have posted an address above if people wish to send a card, letter or flowers.

Blakes sister brought up this thread and I explained it to her Mom. She was so happy to hear that Blake had even more friends reaching out to his family in this difficult time. I will send her the link once I finish posting.

I am reading a lot of posts asking about an auction to start a college fund for little Hina. If Racket Boy will allow this I will put Blakes family in contact with one of the mods here. I'll start digging and put up stuff from my collection. I have quite a few extras that I would have normally traded/gave to Blake.

Again, I want to thank you all for the kind words, this has been very uplifting. I know Blake would be very happy to read all of these nice thing.
Thing's that I'm looking for at the moment: Super Mario RPG manual(SNES), Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals map and cart(SNES), The King of Dragons Box and manual(SNES), Lufia and the fortress of doom CIB(SNES), Earthbound CIB(SNES), EVO: The Search for Eden CIB(SNES), Harvest Moon CIB(SNES), Mario Paint CIB(SNES), Bomberman Party Pak With Super Multitap(SNES), DoReMi Fantasies CIB(SFC).

This is a real shame, a huge loss. He was a very helpful and friendly member.

Even as long as I've been away, I never forgot him. He will be missed.

Thank. Goodness.

Thanks again for keeping us updated. I've been thinking about this little girl all day and am so relieved to hear this news.

Because the people who have already bidded did so knowing that their funds would go towards the cause detailed in the first post of this year's thread. It's not appropriate to divert the funds somewhere else.

I ddn't remember seeing were the money was going when i checked it last time.

Check out the very first post of the auction thread. Scroll to the bottom of the items list. Under the last item, you'll find information about the family who's receiving the donation.

In a time like this, simply sending the Cheslock family a card will mean the world to them. I would strongly encourage every member who enjoyed speaking with Blake to do so. It's worth the $0.85 in postage.

This is shocking news...

Breetai to me was always part of racketboy's community. He was part of what makes Racketboy forums the knowledgable helpful/friendly forums.

I too thought he was leaving the forums due to busy life, did not expect this...

Surely he will be missed

It is always so shocking to learn someone you had interactions with just a few days ago has now passed on; even more so when there would be no indication that such an event was even possible.

I'll miss his posts here and my condolences go out to his entire family.
