2. Donkey Kong Country 2 (GBA)
3. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
4. Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA)
5. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (PS3)
6. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PS3)
7. Rayman Origins (PS3)
8. SMA4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (GBA)
9. Little Big Planet 2 (PS3)
10. Pokemon Colosseum (GCN)

16. King of Fighters: Neowave (PS2)
17. Pokemon Gold (GBC)
18. Pokemon Ruby (GBA)
19. Dragon Warrior Monsters (GBC)
20. Darius Gaiden (PS2)
21. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
22. Tiny Toon Adventures (NES)
23. Tiny Toon Adventures 2: Trouble in Wackyland (NES)
24. Sonic Generations (PS3)
25. 1942 (NES)
26. Batman: The Return of the Joker (NES)
27. Fantasy Zone (NES)
28. Sonic The Hedgehog (MD)
29. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (MD)
30. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (MD)
31. Megaman 2 (NES)
32. Frog Fractions (Browser)
33. Sonic CD (PSN)
34. Super Monkey Ball 2 (GCN)
35: Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN)
36. Sonic Colours (Wii)
I think this may be it for the year, barring any Xmas surprises. Wind Waker was everything positive you've already heard/read about it, and still manages to be a uniquely charming game, if not, at times, rather easy, and with a pretty timeless aesthetic.
Sonic Colours managed to surprise me, since I figured Generations built upon and ironed out its kinks, but I found myself enjoying the former more. I dug the goofy get-up and the flipping between 2.5D and 3D was well done.

Sam & Max Save the World Episode 1 "Culture Shock"
So gog put the telltale games on sale again today, and I nabbed the ones I didn't get from the last sale. They're helping me get through a rather boring holiday with family whenever I get some time to game on my laptop at night when everyone else is sleeping.
I just finished episode 1 of S&M Save the World and I really had a good time. The writing was sharp and funny and made me smile or laugh repeatedly. This is a really great start and I look forward to the remaining episodes and seasons. I would like to know who Karyn Nelson was though, since there was a dedication to her in the credits.
I loved the psychoanalyst lady, cute and funny. Bosco was probably the funniest character of the whole episode though. My favorite part of the whole episode was the part involving the random drivers on the road

Re: Games Beaten 2012
My favorite episode was reality 2.0, it was hilarious and there was RPG fighting in it. (not like full on game, just like fighting a slime if you want to,still a cool addition.)

Sonic 4.2 is better but easier than Sonic 4.1. Both are pretty solid and worth checking out even for people who hadn't liked a Sonic game since the Genesis days. Neither is better than Generations, though.
Killer Instinct still holds up as an immensely awesome fighter, though it's "amazing" SNES-port graphics have not aged well - even for the system.

You gotta clear the 2nd loop of Dodonpachi Ressurection now
Thats a mighty list though, about 70 games longer than mine would be.

28. Sam & Max Save the World Episode 1 "Culture Shock"
Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1: Launch of the Sreaming Narwhal
This was...okay. I was pretty happy when I started playing this, but by the end of it I was a little "meh." It wasn't necessarily bad, but there weren't a lot of laugh out loud moments. By comparison, Sam & Max Save the World Episode 1 was MUCH funnier. I think Curse of Monkey Island was a lot more entertaining too. I miss Murray, especially since the game kept name dropping him. He would have brought a lot more laughs to this episode. I kind of miss the old 2d style too. The shift to 3D seems to favor Sam & Max's visual style more so than it does Monkey Island for some reason. I started playing Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2, and it starts off strong, very strong. I hope it's better overall than this first episode. I'll probably update this again after I finish season 1 in its entirety, same goes for Sam & Max.
I've been playing these games with the hints set at 0 (basically no hints at all) and I've been breezing through them. I guess I've gotten good at the lateral thinking these games require as it used to take me a lot longer to figure the puzzles out in Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and the earlier Monkey Island games.
I'm kind of in the mood for some great PC adventure games now that I've got a new computer to enjoy. There seems to be a wide selection of these kinds of games on GOG, which is great. I also got the first episode of The Walking Dead for free for my Xbox 360 today as part of some holiday deal they are doing. So I can enjoy a little more Telltale fun on the old 360 when I get through with Sam & Max and Tales of Monkey Island on PC

Re: Games Beaten 2012
I hear a lot of people say that. I guess I can't comment on that until I spend some time with it myself. However, to me, if it requires me to use an input device in my hand while watching things happen on a screen, it's a video game. Plus, gaming sites are the only places I've heard of Dear Esther.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:That's not a game though.Gamerforlife wrote:I'm going to be playing Dear Esther very soon too. I have only beaten like 30 games this year.... Although I play more retro games then some of you it seems. (just by glancing at beaten lists)
