Well I've just been working on it in my spare time and I enjoy playing it just as much, so it's totally worth it even for my own enjoyment.

I did some more tinkering and fixed up a number of things. So I proudly present the updated version of sheng long 6:

http://www.mediafire.com/?0puwabsv9n4i74e

I reworked bison. I found out how to launch a fireball at the beginning of his psycho crusher (I previously wasn't able to do that). So I restored the psycho crusher, his psycho crusher now launches 1 sonic boom during execution. I also adjusted the psycho crusher speed so it's easy to combo the fireball hit with the psycho crusher hit. I also restored his stupid jump on the head move.

I fixed the jumping height of all the characters. I finally figured out how to adjust the normal jump height (not diagonal) so I re-tweaked all of the jumping heights so each character can easily clear a screen full of fireballs and their jumps are all the same height.

Sagat still has issues jumping over fireballs, but he can do a jamp, then mid-air tiger uppercut and be on the other part of the screen anyway. What is this teleportation secret you talked about. Bison now has both fireballs and sonic booms in his moves! Why did you take the flame out of the back-back-move of Vega? I like that one

Sagat doesn't need to jump over fireballs he can just make his own fireballs and cancel them out, or he can tiger uppercut through them (or try to anyway). I don't want to give everyone in the game a super jump it would possibly mess up the balance. I only gave ultra jumps to characters who can't pump out fireballs at rapid rates. I got rid of the bison hadouken with this new update because his psycho crusher now is pretty hard to beat so he no longer needs the hadouken from his bicycle kick. To have the hadouken come out of bisons bicycle kick I needed to use up one of the fireball call functions...or atleast I thought I had to at the time. So I needed to dedicate one of the fireball calls just for bison which is why I had to remove the vega flame. But since I no longer need the bicycle kick hadouken the vega flame is restored! I also did minor tweaking with dhalsim. Now dhalsim launches two sonic booms if you manage to land one of his spinning attacks. I also made it so when you shoot a fireball with dhalsim he spits out one yoga fire and one sonic boom. I wanted to give dhalsims spinning attacks more use.

This is the teleport trick:

Hold down heavy kick + heavy punch for 1 second then release. You have to be very precise with the timing otherwise it won't work.

Here's the new version of the hack:

I redid all of the pallette data for when you change character mid-round as well. Now the characters look a lot cooler when you change them mid-round. You only get these extra pallettes when you change your character during a round. Once a new round starts you reset back to regular pallettes. I also changed the pallette of the main font to something better.

I absolutly love Caribean Ryu. His pallete really colors up the game.
How about all characters get a caribean make-over. Bronzier skin and some bright colored outfit. It really livens up the screen compared to default SFIICE palettes
I wish Caribean Ryu´s pallete to be selected when you press an attack button on fighter select screen, instead of pressing start 12 times every round. Vega´s flame roll is back, great.
Nice font, everything looks new and fresh. What´s up with smurf-honda  E-Honda scares me now.

Haha I don't know I figured if carribean ryu then why not smurf honda? I could make these custom pallettes available by hitting start button to choose your guy but then we'd have to make the world warrior pallettes only available by pressing start 12 times during a round. I wasn't aiming for the best looking pallettes in the world I was just trying out different ideas without spending too much time on it. My original alternate pallettes were a lot lazier so this's atleast a step in the right direction a lot of these new pallettes are pretty cool. I like black blanka.

Red / orange guile also looks really cool that one turned out great. If I put more time into it like I put into the default pallettes I could make stuff just as nice looking. I just need to find enough free time to bother with that.

Anyway the gameplay feels very solid now none of the characters feel too weak, too strong or too boring to me anymore. I guess that's why I made a bunch of pallette tweaks.

Playthrough of the latest version:

Also I'm no longer going to say "this's the final version". From now onward this project shall be known as:

"A neverending WIP that gets updated at random times, it may even take years for a single update!"

I keep finding new stuff, I keep learning new stuff. Just when I think I've done everything that can be done I find / learn something new about the code.

*bump*

My cps1 pcb had been acting up with my supergun (random resetting, sometimes wouldn't boot). I bought a proper arcade power supply with adjustable voltage, wired it up, after adjusting the voltage the pcb runs perfectly now. In celebration I took another crack at the sf2 arcade roms. I added a few new things to this hack. Once I'm done a little more testing I'll release the new version.

New features already added (and soon to be released):

1: I found how to change the distance dhalsim travels with his slide, I also found how to summon a fireball when you do his slide move. Dhalsim is now a much more fair match to the other super powered characters

2: As much as I loved the ken neverending hurricane kick it was too broken and easy to infinite so I set it back to normal. You can still infinite it by shooting a pair of fireballs first but it's a little more balanced.

3: Chun li always felt a bit weak to me so her helicopter kick got a rework. Chun li no longer does the diagonal helicopter kick and goes across the screen very fast. Also I made her shoot out two sonic booms when her helicopter kick is performed.

4: I got rid of the e. honda smurf pallette. That was the only pallette that looked stupid. I made a black e. honda but when you do the hand slap his foot is still white so I scrapped that idea and just gave him a pink skirt thing (whatever it is he's wearing). Don't worry it's not hot pink only chun li and zangief get to wear that.

The new release will be out with a video when I get around to it (could be today, could be next week, just...whenever).

Once again this is a romhack of the street fighter 2 champion edition 920313 arcade roms. This hack runs fine on an official capcom cps1 arcade board (the arcade board that street fighter 2 champion edition was released on).
