What was the last movie you've seen?

i tried watching attack the block but got bored, turned it off. i liked super 8 more. seemed like a throwback to goonies and monster squad.

I'm gonna watch the Rankin/Bass version of The Hobbit to prep myself for the live action film, which I plan to see on Wednesday.

I loved watching that version when I was younger. I really need to track down a new copy. I don't think my VHS can last much longer. I've practically worn the tape out.

Be warned: I dunno how important this is to you, but the audio on The Hobbit cartoon DVD is messed up in some places (check out all the one-star reviews on Amazon).

Or maybe I'll luck out and the full audio cartoon will get a re-release once the new movie is released.

Google Hifi Hobbit. It is a version of the dvd video with the audio from the laserdisc

Pshh. It's a great sci-fi film. And it's even better after having watched the series. Certain things hold more weight that 2nd viewing through. But yeah, the T.V. series are better.

SG: Atlantis was the best thing to come from that franchise, though.

Africa Addio



From the guys that brought us Mondo Cane comes to us one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen (It's on my top 5 now, I watched it without knowing much about the film and I would have never imagined how unpleasant it would be). It's about how Africa collapses during the 60's and sadly... it's very real and it's as grotesque as it is fascinating.

I got this as a gift since a friend gifted me the Mondo Cane collection and I'm not sure if I'm going to watch the follow-up soon.

A very loose remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night, in that the only thing from the original, aside from a few nods, is the killer Santa.

Other than that, it's an excellent slasher, but tragically falls short when compared to the original, which eschewed the standard slasher formula. If you've seen the original, you know what I'm talking about.

Just watched Price Check. I liked Parker Posey in Dog Show and Dazed and Confused; I figured this movie would have her playing a nutcase--and it does. The problem is that even though her character is meant to be over the top, every other character is completely forgettable.

And whoever labelled the movie as a comedy needs to be hit in the balls with the Lament Configuration.
