Re: Zero Punctuation: Braid
Speaking of Braid... anyone get all the stars yet? I've gotten 5 so far... they are HARD.

I think I've got five as well. I'd say half of them are hard; one is just time consuming. I have the easy ones...

Re: Zero Punctuation: Braid
Yeah I'm doing the time consuming one right now... I'd put this as the hardest merely because I don't feel like sitting here waiting for that stupid cloud to get its lazy ass over here.
I mean, ok, make it slow so we don't notice its moving. But an hour and a half!? I can beat the entire game faster then this!

Yeah, I haven't done that one yet. So stupid. Gotta find the time to just let my xbox sit there...
Seems like an inside joke by Blow. You know, some peoples 360's might RROD in the process.

Actually, this just seems to be the way designers are getting these days. More and more sadistic. It's like instead of doing things in a challenging way, they opt for annoying instead. You guys have already heard me rant about some of the stupid stuff Capcom has people doing in their games now. Like the FOURTEEN HOUR survivor mode achievement if you want the laser sword in Dead Rising, or that stupid beat the game five times in one day achievement in Mega Man 9ZenLogikos wrote:Yeah, I haven't done that one yet. Seriously, is it just me, or is there just something wrong with designers today?

Overall, I'd say no, but certainly some are getting off-track with the advent of achievements. I'm obsessive-compulsive enough without being presented with some ridiculous achievement requiring tons of needless repetition for the sake of repetition.

Re: Zero Punctuation: Braid
I don't think the games themselves are getting lazy... I just think the achievements are lazy. Like the designers add on the achievements as an after thought.
Which really... they do.
As for Braid, the stars aren't even an achievement. Instead they are hidden... REALLY WELL. The first star is the easiest, but longest to find. I think it's kinda like a way the designer was saying "hey look here, notice this odd out of place cloud. Yeah, it probably does something. But I'm not gonna tell you." And thusly it the only clue to the hidden stars staring you right in the face, yet because it moves so slow you don't realize it goes anywhere.
But my God... all these stars are so well hidden... I really wonder how any one person can find them all on there own. World 4's is ridiculous. The only reason I know where it is, is because of online FAQs... have I seen it though? No, I'm just jumping on monsters over and over in this one place because I was told in faith that this is where I should do it. UGH! (and yes that's the last star I need to get... just short of the final star you can't get until all other 7).
The funny part, I was only informed today about the Stars. Though I had already collected the ones in level 6 already. It never dawned on me in collecting them that it would do anything. When really it should have.

Well i've come to realize that Yahtzee has exactly my taste of videogames and i agree with every review. Seriously to me every word of that guy is pure gold. Has anyone already tried his game "Art of theft"? Well done too. His reviews are mainly based on Singleplayer and that's fine with me because i usually play my console games offline too.

Re:
Then he would be playing shitty games non-stop! That would make him even more condescending, critical, and cynical! Wait a minute, you might have something there.Niode wrote: I wish Yahtzee would review all the latest releases so I know which games to avoid/poke fun at.

On the complete the game 5 times in a day thing. Can't you just turn the clock back?!Gamerforlife wrote:Actually, this just seems to be the way designers are getting these days.
